Follows the boundary-pushing Rubinstein as she selects Ravel to compose the music for her next ballet and requests something bold and sensual. Ravel finds himself incapable of writing anything, but in the process of reliving his memories, facing his old loves and failures, the composer ends up creating his greatest success ever: Boléro。中华秋沙鸭是中国特有鸟类，被称为鸟类中的活化石，目前地球上仅存两千多只，在小兴安岭的碧水自然保护区内，发现了有少量的中华秋沙鸭在繁育栖息。该片通过长期拍摄，详实地记录了中华秋沙鸭在野生状态下从求偶、组建家庭、繁殖孵化、养育成长到南迁的全过程。。影片前半部看是一出荒诞不经的嬉闹剧，但在黑色幽默的底层却深深反映出了战争后期人们的厌战情绪，影片后半部则感人至深，可谓深具震撼力，那个象征禁锢的棕榈树的两次被扔进大海，正象征了权利的倾覆和向往自由的呼声。。
