民国二十年代的东北内忧外患，土匪横行，民不聊生，太平庄乡亲在水深火热的生活中苦苦挣扎。曾经做过东北军教官的梁远仗义除恶，为保护一方百姓安宁，合众与旧中国的恶势力殊死搏斗。最终解救了太平庄，伸张了正义。。彼得刚出狱回到家乡，自觉好日子又开始了。他在姊姊的洗衣店见到正在生产的玛雅。冀望靠一个孩子留住生命中某些东西的姊姊，买下玛雅生的男婴。狂野不羁的玛雅和彼得周遭的人都牵扯不清，彼得跟她终日斯混，也深深被她吸引。等到玛雅想要回儿子，彼得发现自己卡在她和姊姊之间左右为难，觉得美好时光彷佛已逐渐消失。。John Ellman (Boris Karloff) has been framed for murder by a gang of racketeers. He is unfairly tried and despite the fact that his innocence has been proven, he is sent to the electric chair and executed. Dr. Evan Beaumont (Edmund Gwenn) retrieves his dead body and revives it, as part of his experiments to reanimate a dead body and discover what happens to the soul after death....。
