When Jane's math teacher oversteps his bounds, an apathetic high school administration forces Jane and Merritt to take matters into their own hands, driving their relationship into further turmoil and inciting deadly consequences....。《不寻常日常——中元不信邪系列》是中国台湾出品的短剧集，虽然“吃祭品、踩冥币、吹口哨、夜出行”等，是几个非常短小精悍的故事，但每一个故事都在围绕“中元节”而发生，也正是它特有的中式恐怖，和恰到好处的节奏为影片增色不少。。本片是导演扬•特洛尔1971年的名作《大移民》的续篇，两部电影均改编自Vilhelm Moberg的The Emigrants系列小说。本片取材此系列的后两部小说，The Settlers 和The Last Letter Home，讲述一批瑞典移民在19世纪中期的明尼苏达州建造家园的故事。
