《摩斯探长前传》第三季确定于2016年1月在ITV播出。新季将以1967年为背景，剧情承接第二季结尾，依旧由Shaun Evans和Roger Allam联合主演，Russell Lewis担任编剧，摩斯探长系列小说作者Colin Dexter担任顾问。本季四集的标题分别为《旅程》、《桃源》、《狩猎》、《终曲》。。这部作品讲述的是2024年生活在东京的30岁男女7人，在持有各自的恋爱观和家庭问题的同时，相遇、接触、相爱的故事。7人因为没有恋爱的美好回忆，或是过去经历过巨大的失恋，有各自的理由与恋爱保持距离，也没有恋人。正因为是在SNS和APP变得容易连接的时代，才会感到孤独，面对不安和苦恼。这7个人追求的是“与他人的联系”，换句话说就是“爱”，因此本剧讲述了登场人物因爱上别人而重生，走向新舞台的爱情故事。。June and Oscar are a married couple who live a comfortable-but-predictable life in suburban California.
