王大刚被赌馆中人当街痛揍一顿，狼狈不堪，幸得笑林弟子相救，随后笑林弟子又结识王大刚姐姐，才得知大刚父亲是被赌馆中的流氓迫害致死。笑林二弟子同意带王大刚上山拜师学艺，经过刻苦训练，王大刚终于学成36迷形拳，为父亲报仇雪恨。。上个世纪八十年代中期，师大中文系的唐景辉看演出，误踩了开关，女主角乔悦从两米多高的舞台上摔了下去，摔成重伤。唐景辉冒充学生会成员，到医院探望乔悦，乔悦出院后，正值青春花季、意气风发的两个年轻人相爱了！唐景辉的邻居木香是个淳朴得有些犯傻的姑娘，她和唐景辉一起长大，两人亲如兄妹，木香从小就仰慕唐景辉，长大后，这种仰慕化作了爱。乔悦大学毕业主动到唐景辉的家乡，做了一名医护人员，这时木香发现怀了唐景辉的孩子。回到省城的乔悦嫁给了那个曾经强暴过她，又被她亲手送进过监狱的男人李德亮。一晃几年过去，木香和李德亮的死让唐景辉和乔悦知道，为了那些爱他们的人，他们一定要幸福……。In this bitingly satirical film Peter Slovan, a continuous source of trouble for the film functionaries of the socialist Slovakia, tackles an evergreen topic – the corruptive effects of power. Barnabáš Kos, a triangle player at a symphonic orchestra, is suddenly promoted to serve as the head of the said institution, even though both he and his superiors deem him completely unfit for the task. Encouraged in equal parts by this unexpected recognition and the servile praise of his colleagues, Kos’s modesty starts to gradually vanish. The erstwhile bashful and aloof percussionist quickly becomes aware of the advantages of his new office, and begins to realise his increasingly ludicrous artistic ambitions. Ultimately, the submissive marionette turns into a source of public humiliation, and his astonishing career finds an abrupt end. Orchestra serves here as a microcosm that grotesquely reflects the absurd and tragicomic mechanisms of the paranoid apparatus of power.
